Jequitiba (Cariniana integrifolia)
Very similar to Honduras Mahogany, this beautiful true south American veneer is also known as "Royal Mahogany" and comes from Brazil. The color is a bit lighter brown than Honduras but the grain and structure are excellent. The solid stock is used widely for flooring. A great alternative to the Honduras shortage!
Real Bamboo

thin and ready to go. Bamboo offers a unique look while being one of the most earth
friendly species of wallcovering available.
Understanding that bamboo is a grass, it grows to maturity in less than 4 years. Harvesting is done by hand, over and over from the same plants, minimizing the impact on the local environment by only harvesting the stalk. If the plant were to be left standing it would fall over within seven years because of it's size and weight taking many other plants with it. By working with the plant and understanding its growth patterns, bamboo farmers are are able to maximize timber production, while maintaining healthy forests that will provide decades of this renewable asset.
After the harvest the bamboo root system (much like common household grass) merely sprouts a new shoot the following rainy season.
CraftWood Bamboo may also contribute to LEED certification as a Rapidly Renewable Material. Due to the limitations of the species and slicing methods the material can be made in lengths up to 8' only. Our Bamboo products are made from Mao Zhu Bamboo because it is one of the bamboo species not consumed by the panda.
